Evernote is nice but sometimes does not dance. It is undoubtedly the best note-taking service currently in circulation but some issues make it uncomfortable to use, or even tedious. We have pointed out several times, and even the CEO of Evernote has admitted publicly promising great improvements for 2014 . Promises will be followed up with concrete? Judging by what has been done in these first months of the year, yes.

With a post published on the official blog of the service, Phil Libin has announced thatdata synchronization has been improved becoming 4 times faster than in the past. And those who use Evernote daily on more than one device knows how much the efficiency of this function may be important.

Libin said that the complexity of synchronization depends on five variables: the number of notes in the user’s hosted and the weight of each resource (images, PDFs and other files), the number of users that synchronizes information on the same server , the number of devices used and the number of collaborations on their notebooks.

All of these variables – said the CEO – have increased exponentially over the past few days and this has led to a major overhaul of the engine through which information is synchronized with the Evernote servers.

The end result, without getting bogged down in technicalities, is that we can now synchronize data at a rate significantly higher than in the past without lifting a finger. There are in fact required user intervention and no need to update the application to take advantage of the new features in sync. Congratulations to Evernote, this time he deserves!
